| When | Spring Leagues: *Mondays League: -- Runs approx. April 23 to end June. **Registration opens March 1 and closes April 16. **************** Summer Leagues: *Mondays League: Runs approx. July 2 to end of August. -- Registration opens May 15 and closes June 25. **************** Fall Leagues: *Mondays 7-on-7 League: -- Five weeks and room for just four teams. -- Dates TBD. But runs from approx. Sept. 10 to October 15. -- $200 + HST for team ($224) or $20 + HST for single ($22.40). -- Register by Sept. 3. -- Multiple games at Lewis Park under the lights. |

Ultimate Frisbee Trivia
- While the sport is often called Ultimate Frisbee, like it is here, the name Frisbee is a trademarked product. And the official discs actually come from competitor Discraft. Weird, huh? This is why the sport is often just called Ultimate.
- All ultimate games are self-refereed, even at the highest levels of international competition. The sport prides itself on gentlemanly behaviour and sportsmanship.
- The 2008 World Ultimate and Guts Championship was held in August in Vancouver at U.B.C. Canada won a couple of golds in Open and Mixed divisions. It featured 1,600 athletes from 21 countries.
- An Ottawa association founded in 1986 has the largest summer league in the world with over 5,000 players as of 2004.
- The first history of the sport was published in 2005, called Ultimate: The First Four Decades.
Ultimate Frisbee
Ultimate Frisbee is massive in many parts of Canada, with hundreds of teams and reams of tournaments -- and rightfully so. The sport is extremely fun, easy to learn and very addictive.
Ultimate is an exciting, non-contact sport that combines some of the best aspects of football, basketball and soccer with the joys of throwing a disc. It's fun to play, and best of all, prides itself on the "spirit of the game" (fair play, sportsmanship, joy of the game). Rookies are always welcome and the veterans of the sport are helpful in teaching skills and techniques.
The ultimate Frisbee league is open to players and teams from Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland, Campbell River and surrounding areas. See you out on the grassy fields of the Comox Valley!
