Basketball Trivia
- It was a Canadian, Dr. James Naismith, who invented the game of basketball to bridge the gap between football season and baseball season.
- Victoria, B.C.'s own Steve Nash is a two-time NBA MVP, six-time all-star and perhaps best of all, a great person.
- The Vancouver Grizzlies became an NBA expansion franchise in 1995, along with the Toronto Raptors. A shining example of terrible mismanagement, the team was moved to Memphis in 2001. And... they still suck.
- The Grizzlies were originally supposed to be the Mounties (gag), but were forced to change due to objections from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. (The Grizzly bear population never saw the ridicule coming.)

Basketball is a sweet workout and a lot of fun, so we'd love to be able to offer it! In the meantime, check out some of the other indoor sports we offer, like: Dodgeball, Floor Hockey, Volleyball and Indoor Soccer/Futsal.
The basketball league would be open to players and teams from Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland, Campbell River and the surrounding areas.
League Registration
